Warner Brothers has hired experienced industry professionals Martin Carrier and Reid Schneider to head up the Montreal studio it established in March this year. WB Games Montreal will be led by Carrier as studio head, with Schneider assuming the role of executive producer at the developer.
Carrier was previously Vice-President of Communications and Corporate Affairs at Ubisoft Montreal, while Schneider worked as an Executive Producer at Electronic Arts on the Army of Two series, and as a Senior Producer at UbiSoft before that.
“WB Games Montreal has begun to take shape with many new hires and the appointments of gaming industry veterans Martin Carrier and Reid Schneider to lead the studio," said the firm’s development vice president Samantha Ryan.
“Martin and Reid have the interactive experience needed to lead the team in making quality games utilizing our major properties. They will continue to build the team, and are currently hiring talented developers.”
The studio will be primarily working on projects based on the DC Comics franchise, with the intention of gradually growing to 300 staff by 2015.
In March of this year, Carrier
helped Warner coordinate the studio's implementation, which was formed following a $7.5 million grant from the Quebec government through Investissement Quebec.
