Vivendi Posts Modest Gains In Q4, Fiscal Year -- Games Division Up 25%

Vivendi Universal announced preliminary Q4 and full year 2002 results, posting slight gains that were bolstered by its games division.
For Q4, the company generated revenues of 16.4 billion euros (up one percent over the prior year), and for the year revenues hit 61 billion euros (up six percent). Of note, Q4 revenues in the Vivendi Universal Games division gained seven percent over the prior year, to 292 million euros. The company attributed the growth Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, Spyro the Dragon: Enter the Dragonfly, No One Lives Forever 2 and Dark Age of Camelot: Shrouded Isle. For the year, Vivendi Universal Games revenues increased an impressive 25 percent, to 794 million euros. The company cited strong revenue from Warcraft III, Nascar 2002, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, The Thing, Barbie as Rapunzel, Jumpstart Advanced, Bruce Lee, Outlaw Golf and Hunter: The Reckoning. Net revenues were not reported by the company.
