Representatives from VIS-ITV, a joint venture between Scottish developer VIS Entertainment and cable operator Telewest, have confirmed that a number of staff have been laid off. However the company has been keen to insist that work on its main project – a virtual horse racing TV channel named I-Race – is still underway. VIS COO, Jane Karowoski will also shortly be leaving the company, officially because her task of implementaing cutbacks and cost saving measures has been completed – although rumours have persisted that she has not remained because of conflicts with CEO Chris van der Kuyl.
