Japanese company am3 Inc., a joint venture of Toshiba and a handful of other companies, will begin selling videos this month for the Game Boy Advance. The first title for release is a Pokemon movie, “Pikachu’s Summer Vacation,” and the purchase price will include a connection device for playback. In the US, publisher Majesco announced a device for the GBA a few weeks ago: the Wireless Link and Wireless Messenger, which enables GBA players to wirelessly join multiplayer games and allows for wireless messaging between devices, respectively. While many of these features appear in the Nintendo DS—the latest Nintendo handheld console announced at E3, not yet on shelves—the add-on devices allow GBA players to reap some of the future advantages now.
