Knowledge Adventure's educational game series
JumpStart 3D Virtual World has recently made its way to Wii, and has done so on the back of the Unity engine.
The first Wii title is
JumpStart Pet Rescue, which was released for Nintendo's home console earlier this month. This marks the first time the
JumpStart brand has appeared on a system other than the PC.
"We’re especially pleased with how Knowledge Adventure is using Unity to branch out to the Nintendo’s Wii system and I think it goes to show how we’re able to deliver to cross platform development tools," Unity CCO Nicholas Francis said of the partnership.
Knowledge Adventure CEO David Lord said the California-based developer chose Unity for its ease of use, and Wii for its particular audience.
"We chose to work with Unity because it’s a cutting-edge game engine that allows us to seamlessly transition between versatile gaming platforms, which gives us a tremendous advantage in the marketplace," said Lord. "The Wii system is the fastest growing for kids and it represents a huge opportunity for us to leverage our trusted brand and leading market share in kids’ games."
The announcement implies Knowledge Adventure will develop further
JumpStart games for Wii.
