Microsoft timed its £30 Xbox 360 Elite price cut to coincide with a three-day bank holiday weekend in the UK, and the price reduction also took effect before the £249.99 PS3 Slim reached store shelves today.
In the UK, the price of the lowest-end Arcade SKU was raised £30 to £159.99, as Microsoft begins phasing out its Pro SKU in the UK as with other regions.
Japan will see its own Xbox 360 Elite price cuts, as Microsoft has also announced a reduction there from ¥39,800 ($430.00) to ¥29,800 ($322.00). Other Asia-Pacific regions are expected to see price reductions go into effect beginning September 10.
