UK Trade Show Rivalry Intensifies

Roger Bennett, director general of ELSPA (European and Leisure Software Publishers Association) has claimed that unnamed competitors are “being extremely liberal with the facts” when described plans and support for alternative trade shows, beyond the ELSPA backed European Games Network (EGN) show. The EGN trade show has recently confirmed seventeen new exhibitors, including Sega, Nintendo and NCsoft. The EGN show runs from 1st to 3rd September in London and will also include representation from Electronic Arts, Atari, Eidos, Activision, Vivendi, Ubisoft and Microsft. Bennett’s barbed comments are clearly aimed at the annual ECTS event, which is now much diminished in importance as a global trade show. However, since Bennett has not mentioned them by name no response has yet been made by the rival organizers. Source: MCV
