The delayed debut of the PSP version of
The Sims 2 has become the first major new release of 2006 in the UK, with the game’s performance combining with the existing versions to push the title to the number two spot – its highest since the game’s original release on the PC.
Although many of the other titles in the top ten have shuffled position, the only real movement of note is Sega’s soccer management title
Football Manager 2006, which re-enters the chart following widespread shop discounting.
Next week sees the release of
Ridge Racer 6 for the Xbox 360 in the UK, but with supplies of the console still limited, it is unlikely to have a significant impact on the charts. Fellow Xbox 360 title
Dead Or Alive 4 is due for release the following week, but it is not until February that the British release schedules return to full life after the Christmas rush.
