The UK retail market continues in a state of midsummer near-hibernation, with still no major new releases this week, and none expected until the launch of the PSP on September 1st. Nonetheless, the continuing drama of the Ashes cricket test against England and Australia has provided the only real impetus for movement in the chart, with Codemasters'
Brian Lara title reclaiming the number one spot and EA’s own cricket title moving up two places.
The sole new entry in the chart is soccer management game
Premier Manager 2005-2006 at twenty-seven, although with the state of the market at this time of the year such a low entry will have resulted in a relatively trivial number of sales.
However, the only possible chance of the UK retail market showing a little diversity before the PSP launch is in the week ending August 20th, when titles such as
187 Ride or Die,
Earth 2160,
Ghost Recon 2: Summit Strike and
Resident Evil: Outbreak – File #2 are due for release.
