Despite two prominent new entries this week,
Wii Fit is still top of both the individual and all-platform
sales charts in the UK.
The first-party hardware bundle saw sales rise 21 percent over the previous week, while fellow hardware bundle
Wii Play remained at number two in the individual platform top ten.
The highest new entry of the week was the Xbox 360 version of
Skate 2 at number three, with the PlayStation 3 version of EA’s skateboarding sim charting at number fifteen. Also new at number four is Ubisoft’s
My Fitness Coach on Wii, a potential rival to Nintendo’s
Wii Fit which does not use any unique hardware peripherals.
Also of note this week is the reappearance of Nintendo DS game
Professor Layton and the Curious Village at number seven. Amid heavy advertising upon its launch in November, the game instantly ran out of stock, and has only seen one small replenishment since. It remains to be seen how long this second return to the charts will last.
Outside the top 10, the new PlayStation 2 version of
Tomb Raider: Underworld enters at number 24. The other debuts this week are all re-entries due to retailer discounting and hardware bundling, with Ubisoft’s
Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party on Wii at number 25, Midway’s
TouchMaster on DS at number 32 and Microsoft’s
Fable II on Xbox 360 at number 33.
In the separate all-platform chart, which combines all SKUs of a game into a single chart position, the top two are also unchanged, with
Wii Fit at number one and Activision’s
Call of Duty: World at War at number two.
Skate 2 is new at number three and
My Fitness Coach debuts at number seven.
Overall in the individual platform top 40, there are 13 titles for the Wii, 12 for the Xbox 360, seven for the Nintendo DS, six for the PlayStation 3, one each for the PC and PlayStation 2 and none for the PSP.
