Disaster recovery solutions company Sonasoft has announced that Ubisoft (Assassin's Creed
) has successfully implemented its SonaSafe solution to protect Microsoft SQL servers across its worldwide studio network.
Sonasoft explains that Ubisoft 's SQL servers are spread across three cities in three different countries: Montreal, Canada, Paris, France and San Francisco. Faced with rapid data growth, the company says its solutions supported Ubisoft in data protection and high availability for SQL servers housing its databases.
Using Sonasoft's SonaSafe solution, the company says Ubisoft was able to implement a disaster recovery solution that would enable them to bring the system back online in a timely manner in the event of a downed production server or data center.
According to the company, the data warehouse is refreshed every hour to support more up-to-date reports for stakeholders and reduce the number of queries launched in the production system. Additionally, a daily refresh of the production environment is available in the U.S., in case of user troubleshooting requests or bug resolution needs.
Ubisoft senior manager of business applications Amir Shafi explained, "We were looking for an affordable solution to protect our databases. We tested many products and selected Sonasoft' SonaSafe solution because replication is done on a data level and it verifies/validates data before applying on the target database. Sonasoft's solution provides both data protection and disaster recovery at one fourth of the cost, and Sonasoft provides excellent customer service."
