Major publisher and developer Ubisoft, together with the U.S. Army, has announced that Red Storm Entertainment (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter) is currently developing America's Army: True Soldiers, an Xbox 360 exclusive version of the Army's popular 'serious game.' The game, which is expected to ship in September, is being built upon Red Storm's Ghost Recon Warfighter 2 game engine. According to Ubisoft, America's Army: True Soldiers will feature an added focus on multiplayer gameplay over Xbox Live, including eight different maps and built in clan support to make it easier for teams to compete online. Additionally, it appears that Red Storm has not ignored those players looking forward to a more solitary experience either, as America's Army: True Soldiers will also include a single player campaign complete with a career mode wherein players can take on such roles as rifleman, grenadier, automatic rifleman, and sniper. In addition, players can look forward to earning accomplishments and skills in the single player game, which can then be carried over into the multiplayer mode. Other gameplay additions confirmed for the game include the 'Play-Lead-Recruit' feature, which according to Ubisoft will allow players to “earn respect as they move up through the ranks and become true leaders.” Teammates will be allowed to award additional points to other team members who they feel are particularly deserving. "America's Army is a strong brand, and coupled with Red Storm Entertainment's next-gen expertise, Ubisoft and the Army are set to deliver a solid and authentic Army experience," said Tony Key, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft. "Red Storm has done an unbelievable job over the years with military action titles and we're excited to have them work in partnership with the U.S. Army to develop America's Army: True Soldiers."
