Today at Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany, Ubisoft announced that it has opened a new office in Warsaw, Poland, which will focus on establishing and managing Ubisoft's business relations in Poland and throughout Eastern Europe.
"Our vision is to ensure our presence in the most important markets and that we remain close to our consumers," said Alain Corre, Ubisoft's EMEA executive director. "The Eastern Europe market has the potential to become a key market for video games and Poland represents a major part of this potential, with a rapidly growing console install base."
No further details about staffing or activities at the office have been revealed. The announcement does not mention specific activities that it will undertake, nor comment on other potential opportunities, such as development or outsourcing. Ubisoft currently operates Eastern European studios in Kiev, Ukraine, and Bucharest, Romania.
Rose-Marie Nargaud, Ubisoft's Eastern Europe export area manager, will be in charge of operations in the new office; Nargaud will report to Rob Cooper, Ubisoft's managing director, Northern Europe and Export.
