Ubisoft has announced it a new Wii exclusive title with Emergency Heroes, an "open-world driving game" in development by the company's Reflections (Driver) and Barcelona (Cosmic Family) studios for a May 2008 release. The title (not to be confused with Codemasters' upcoming Emergency Mayhem) focuses on rescue driving, featuring 16 different variations of vehicles such as police cars, fire trucks and other emergency response vehicles, and players must navigate the city of San Alto to keep citizens safe. Ubisoft promises free-roaming environments and "fast-action", family-oriented gameplay, in addition to a "Hero Mode" wherein the player is rewarded with invincibility for driving at higher speeds. The game, which Ubisoft says "makes full use of the Wii remote," also features a two-player cooperative mode, where friends can either challenge one another or play together as a rescue team.
