The United States Air Force has awarded a $750,000 SBIR Phase II contract to Wombat Security Technologies for the creation of "an innovative micro-game platform for cyber security training and awareness." Wombat previously developed a number of business-oriented games designed to teach users to recognize and avoid malicious security threats and phishing scams, including titles such as PhishGuru, PhishPatrol, and Anti-Phishing Phil. Under the new contract, Wombat will deliver copies of its most recent title, Anti-Phishing Phillis, to the U.S. Department of Defense. Wombat notes that the contract follows U.S. President Barack Obama's recent address to the nation regarding the start of Cyber Security Awareness Month and the importance of online safety. "This new contract with the US Air Force further validates the effectiveness of Wombat's unique approach to cyber security awareness and training," says Dr. Norman Sadeh, co-founder and CEO of Wombat Security Technologies. "The platform for cyber security awareness and training we will deliver to the US Air Force is designed to appeal to both public and private sector organizations.
