Trymedia Systems has released ActiveMARK 4.0, the company's content control and monetization product. Using ActiveMARK, games appears to the consumer in trial mode, with marketing interfaces that encourage them to purchase and unlock the full game. Anytime game files are shared among users ( whether by CD/DVD, Email, Peer-to-Peer, IM or any other method) they revert to trial mode.
New features in ActiveMARK 4.0 include increased security, the ability to sell more than one game title at volume pricing, a fully customizable Download Manager, advanced compression, and cusomizable in-game registration and interface options to preserve the look and feel of the game throughout the trial process.
Also, for the first time the company is distributing a free SDK to aid game developers in the production of titles that are ready for immediate or future secure distribution on the Internet, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Networks, and via CD/DVD.
ActiveMARK 4.0 will be demonstrated at the GDC next week. Pricing was not disclosed.
