Trinigy's Vision Engine is now integrated with Mixamo, an online library of ready-to-use 3D character animations, in a deal that Trinigy expects will simplify the workflow for Vision Engine users.
"Mixamo’s time-saving service will allow our licensees to iterate faster, and produce higher-quality animations for their games," said Trinigy managing partner Dag Frommhold. The announcement said Mixamo's service alleviates "the need for expensive motion-capture services."
The Vision Engine has over 100 licensees, Trinigy said, and is used in games including Zed's
Planet 51 Online, Ubisoft's
The Settlers 7: Paths to a Kingdom, and City Interactive's
Combat Wings. Vision Engine licensees can receive a 35 percent discount on Mixamo animation services if they sign up by November 20, Trinigy said.
Mixamo allows game developers to access a library of ready-to-use production quality 3D character motions derived from motion capture data. Once customized, users can bake the motion data directly into character models, increasing efficiency of the development process.
