Game engine maker Trinigy has integrated Digital Molecular Matter technology, developed by Pixelux, to its Vision Engine.
DMM simulates real-world materials and the physics surrounding them, allowing for deformation, breaking, and other interactions. Developer and publisher LucasArts actively publicized the features of Pixelux's tech when promoting last year's
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
The middleware will be included in "upcoming versions" of Vision Engine, Trinigy says. It will take the form of a plugin and a deformable and breakable materials editor in the Vision SDK.
Last week, independent studio MunkyFun
announced its adoption of the Vision Engine, and Trinigy has now added that the recently-formed developer's upcoming titles will make use of Digital Molecular Matter.
