The annual Triangle Game Conference, which focuses on the development scene concentrated in North Carolina's Research Triangle Park, has revealed keynote addresses from Insomniac studio director Chad Dezern and John Zuur Platten, co-founder of the Bureau of Film & Games. Dezern will present "The Portable Culture: Inside Insomniac's Expansion," a talk focused on the studio's move to the Triangle area in 2009, and translating Insomniac's philosophy to a new team in a new state, plus best practices and lessons learned. Platten's talk, entitled "To Me, it's a Table: The Craftsmanship of Creativity" will follow the course of his career, beginning as a tour guide at Universal Studios and ending up producing entertainment and games including Avatar, The Chronicles of Riddick and Transformers. From his experience he'll discuss the past, present and future of immersive entertainment. The event has previously announced its tracks -- game development, engines and middleware, and business of games -- and major speakers, a few of which are Atomic Games' Patrick Seabring, Epic Games' John Farnsworth, and Virtual Heroes' Jerry Heneghan. The event will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center and Marriott City Center April 7-8, and organizers say it will offer five tracks plus a "new and improved" Career Lounge where job seekers can meet with industry professionals. Interested parties can find further information at the event's official website.
