A series of new trademark applications have sparked renewed speculation on Nintendo’s future hardware and software plans, especially in light of the company’s pre-E3 comments concerning unspecified new peripherals for the GameCube.
One of the new trademarks is for "Manebito", which is apparently accompanied by a logo for a GameCube-based camera add-on. Other new trademarks include “Princess Hime” (the Japanese name for Prince Peach), “ningen-copy”, “commander” and “commander pack”.
Speculation that one or more of these could relate to an updated R.O.B. style peripheral are currently unfounded, but there is certainly evidence that Nintendo are planning a number of unique products for the near future.
