Officials from CESA, organizers of the recent Tokyo Game Show, have announced that attendance was up for the show this year from 134,042 in 2002 to 158,089 in 2003. The company has attributed the rise to an increase in corporate visitors. It also announced the dates of the next show as September 26-28, 2004. The Tokyo Game Show is the most important press and consumer show in Japan but has suffered from falling numbers as the Japanese market has deteriorated. In previous years it was a bi-annual event but it now takes place only once every year.
