Organizers for the annual Tokyo Game Show have confirmed the 2011 event will occur September 15-18 next year, as the annual expo aims to become "The World's Largest Event."
TGS organizer and video game trade group Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) announced TGS 2011 will take place September 15 (Thursday) through September 18 (Sunday) next year at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City.
CESA said that for the next few years, it's aiming for TGS to become "The No. 1 Information Network in the Asian Region" and "The World’s Largest Event."
This year's Tokyo Game Show,
extensively covered by Gamasutra, concluded this month, running from September 16-19 at the Makuhari Messe -- the first two days were dedicated to game industry business, while the last two days were open to the public. It was the 20th year for the event.
Last week, CESA
revealed that this month's TGS 2010 attracted an all-time high of 208,000 visitors, up from 185,000 in 2009. The organization also revealed a steady year-on-year attendance during business days and substantial increases during publicly-open days.
