Jack Sorensen, executive vice president of worldwide studios at THQ (Destroy All Humans), has quit the company, forcing a reorganization of the publisher’s product development management team. No reason has been given for Sorensen’s exit, and his future plans have not been disclosed. THQ president and CEO Brian Farrell said only: "Jack Sorensen has played an important role in building out THQ’s studio system and has been a key contributor to THQ’s success over the past seven years. We appreciate his service to the company and wish him well in his future endeavors." As a result of Sorensen's departure, Roy Tessler has been promoted to senior vice president of production and worldwide studios. He will oversee production across THQ’s entire portfolio, including all of the company’s internal studios. Tessler was previously vice president of production for THQ, where he has worked for almost six years – initially as co-founder of THQ’s Studio Australia and later as general manager of Rainbow Studios. Danny Bilson has been promoted from vice president of creative development to senior vice president, where he will continue to focus on THQ’s own intellectual properties. Before joining THQ, Bilson was VP of intellectual property development and creative director for Electronic Arts’ worldwide studios, where he worked on franchises such as The Sims, Medal of Honor and Harry Potter. Finally, Steve DeCosta has been promoted to senior vice president of product development finance and administration. DeCosta was previously vice president of studio finance at THQ, where he has worked since 2001. All three newly-created positions will report directly and collectively to Brian Farrell. "This reorganization creates a more efficient management structure, aligning Roy, Danny and Steve as my direct reports,” said Farrell. "I look forward to working directly with them to more expeditiously achieve our quality, predictability and profitability targets.”
