Continuing its recent trend of doing multiple, time-staggered games around Pixar movie properties, THQ has announced that summer 2008 will see the launch of the Wall-E game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, PSP, Wii, DS, Windows PC and Mac, as well as wireless devices. The game will release in conjunction with the film’s theatrical debut in the same season. Both the game and the movie will focus on the futuristic comedy adventures of an animated robot named Wall-E, who's accompanied by a pet cockroach and a team of misfit robots. The Wall-E game will feature action and adventure gameplay across 10 different worlds, including those from the film as well as new areas and storylines unique to the game. THQ’s current agreement with Disney-Pixar, which was announced in 2004, includes rights to create games based on four new Disney-Pixar film properties. The first property released under the agreement was 2007's Ratatouille. Following THQ's second quarter fiscal results announcement, which saw slightly reduced revenue of $229.3 million, and a loss of $7.0 million, analysts expressed optimism that Wall-E would perform more capably than had Ratatouille, often citing the fact that Wall-E's character, a robot, may be more favorably received than Ratatouille's rodent hero.
