THQ has confirmed the lineup of titles across multiple platforms that it will have on display at the upcoming Games Convention in Leipzig, including internally developed next-generation console and PC titles, mass-market licensed products and content for handheld gaming and mobile platforms. In addition to the numerous games THQ will have on display, the company's booth will feature for the first time a playable version of Yukes' WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 for the Xbox 360. A PlayStation 3 version of the game was recently pushed back to as far back as late 2007, a move that many feel signify the version's cancellation, as that would seem to place it alongside the release of the 2008 version. The game is now scheduled only for the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and PSP this November. Also on display at the convention will be the cross-platform title Frontlines: Fuel of War, developed by THQ's Kaos Studios for both current and next-generation platforms. Additionally, THQ will showcase Gas Powered Games' PC real-time strategy title Supreme Commander, as well as Relic's upcoming real-time strategy PC World War II title Company of Heroes, and the long delayed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl, currently being developed by GSC Game World. While originally announced in 2003 as a 2004 release, S.T.A.L.K.E.R has become the victim of numerous delays that now see the PC survival horror first-person shooter targeted for release in early 2007. The company will also showcase Dark Crusade, the latest expansion to its popular PC real-time strategy franchise Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War, which is based upon the popular tabletop miniatures war game by Games Workshop. The fourth installment in the popular adventure game series Broken Sword, titled Broken Sword: The Angel of Death, will also be featured at the convention. Both titles are scheduled to ship in the fall. Other titles confirmed to be on display at the THQ booth in Leipzig include the upcoming Xbox 360 GTA-inspired action title, Saints Row, which ships in North America August 29, and across Europe on September 1. Saints Row is also scheduled to ship for wireless devices simultaneously. Lastly, THQ will show off its numerous licensed titles including Cars, SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab, Barnyard, Bratz, Monster House and Avatar: The Last Airbender, all currently in development for multiple current and next-generation platforms. THQ Wireless Inc. will be also demonstrating wireless versions of many of its properties, as well as Star Wars, Juiced: Eliminator, and Worms. "THQ's product line-up demonstrates both our commitment to delivering innovative, quality products to a global audience as well as our commitment to building the European market," said Ian Curran, senior vice president, international publishing, THQ Inc. "Our extensive Studio System has expanded to include European development talent Juice Games Ltd. and we continue to build an impressive product pipeline of high-profile original and licensed properties from around the world that will keep THQ on the cutting edge of innovative development for all viable platforms."
