Publisher THQ has announced that Team 17 will be debuting their hit franchise Worms on the Wii with Worms: A Space Oddity, promising a 'fresh visual style', four player online games, and gesture-based maneuvers, currently slated for a spring 2008 release. THQ says the new Wii exclusive title will feature new environmental settings, intuitive controls and even more customization options. Apart from classic Worms modes, Space Oddity will also have "re-invented single-player missions" and "a host of all-new party games." While no screens have yet been released, the game will also show what THQ calls "significant visual, technical and design advancement over its predecessors" as it loses its cartoon-ish drawn style in favor of what the publisher only describes as a "distinctive style inspired by classic Sci-Fi looks." The series continues to be a continual hit. Recent statistics released by Microsoft at its recent GameFest showed the Xbox Live version of the game, which launched in March, one of the top 5 titles in nearly every metric, both in sales and in game sessions.
