A third-party Wii remote recharging docking station has been recalled by distributor Griffin International after several reports of overheating. The "Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station" device was manufactured in China and sold under two brand names, Psyclone Essentials and React, at various retailers in the United States between January 2008 and July 2009. According to a U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission bulletin, Griffin has received six reports of overheating across four devices, two of which resulted in minor burns but no serious injury. Support is currently being provided through the Psyclone brand. "We are voluntarily recalling our Wii 4-Dock Recharge Station (also sold under the React brand) due to an overheating problem that has, in a few very rare instances, caused batteries to short circuit," explained Bob Griffin, listed as president and CEO of Psyclone. Customers who own a version of the 4-Dock device can send it back to Psyclone to receive a free redesigned replacement.
