Hollywood-based multimedia firm The Gnomon Workshop has announced two new artist-specific DVDs. In the first, artist Jeremy Engleman returns to the with a series of texture resource DVDs. This series features hundreds of original brick, metal and wood textures as 24bit, seamlessly tileable uncompressed tiffs. Also included are the corresponding bump and specular maps, textures with alpha masks, and more. This resource will prove indispensable to any artist who needs to texture his models quickly and efficiently.
Says director Alex Alvarez of these new titles, "I have been collecting texture libraries for many years, yet have too often found limitations with resolution and variety. For this reason, many texture artists, especially those working in film, rely on photographing, painting and editing their own textures. With these libraries, we are addressing the issue by providing uncompressed ultra high-resolution textures that include hand-edited bump and specular maps. Jeremy, a highly skilled professional texture artist, spent many months assembling these libraries, and has done an amazing job."
Also this month, artist/designer Dave Pasciuto provides the fundamentals of Adobe Photoshop with “Adobe Photoshop for Digital Production.” This DVD instructs the student on the skills he needs to master this essential industry-standard application.
"Dave Pasciuto has worked with Gnomon for several years, art directing and designing for various projects including websites, magazines and DVDs." states Alex Alvarez. "He is a highly skilled designer with impeccable Photoshop skills and thorough knowledge of the application. This DVD is an amazing asset for anyone needing to improve their efficiency with Photoshop in a digital production environment."
