At Tokyo Game Show on Wednesday, Electronic Arts and
No More Heroes developer Grasshopper Manufacture revealed executive director Suda51's "psychological action thriller"
Shadows of the Damned.
Shadows of the Damned's development team lays claim to a few of the more recognizable names in Japanese development, including Suda51 of
No More Heroes and
Killer 7 fame,
Resident Evil director Shinji Mikami and music composer Akira Yamaoka, sound director on
Silent Hill. Mikami is acting as creative producer on
Shadows of the Damned while Yamoaka is the game's music composer.
The game [

result of the 2008 deal between Japanese developer Grasshopper and EA's third-party publishing and distribution arm, EA Partners. The title is due in summer 2011 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
EA and Grasshopper said the game "follows a demon hunter deep into a hyper-twisted re-imagining of hell where he must rescue the love of his life by defeating the armies of darkness with the power of the light."
That demon hunter's name is Garcia, a "hard-as-nails, leather-clad, motorcycle-riding professional demon hunter," according to a press release.
Goichi "Suda51" Suda said he expects the game "will appeal to a global audience." Mikami added, "With
Shadows of the Damned, gamers will fight for love in the most difficult arena imaginable … hell."
