Officials have announced the formation of a new independent games production company named Team Works Productions, based in central London and promising to offer “a new strategy” for video games production and marketing.
The company is a business-to-business games production company working with developers, licensors, publishers and distributors. New titles are evaluated using market research, financial modeling and benchmarking before a game is green lit.
Commenting on the formation of the company, managing director Terry Malham said, “We are part of the new wave of video game production companies that have a new and nimble business model.”
“Where others are solely focused on original or creative ideas, our prime focus raises the importance of commercial viability. Consequently we only green light games that not only entertain, but make strong commercial sense and provides all partners with a fair revenue share. Once in production, Team Works’ role is to give the product a strong marketing head start and provide support throughout the product lifecycle.”
The company has already begun development on a series of mini-game party collections, featuring an original intellectual property named Mr. Okatami. The first game, named
Mr Okatami’s Winning Post, is developed by Broadsword Interactive for the PlayStation 2 and due for release at the end of the year.
