Representatives from Take-Two Interactive have claimed that additional companies have expressed an interest in an acquisition, but admitted that no other formal offers have been made beyond
Electronic Arts’ $2 billion bid earlier in the week.
At the same time the company has stated that, despite rumors to the contrary, there are currently no merger negotiations ongoing with any other interested parties.
A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Thursday indicates that the company has received "informal indications of interest in a business combination” but that it has not taken part in any “substantive discussions” with any party, including Electronic Arts.
The information in the filing is correct as of Wednesday, but the company has indicated it will not update shareholders with new information unless legally required to do so.
