An SEC filing from publisher Take-Two Interactive has revealed that company founder Ryan Brant has formally resigned from his non-executive post of president of production at the company, after a period on disability leave.
Brant founded the company, which includes infamous
Grand Theft Auto publisher Rockstar Games, in 1993 and was CEO until February 2001 and chairman until March 2004. Brant left the post of chairman amidst claims of accountancy irregularities, stock price interference and an investigation from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The
SEC investigation later found that the company had artificially inflated its revenues, with the company settling with the commission at the cost of $7.5 million, but with no admission of wrong doing.
The SEC filing which announced Brant’s resignation noted that the thirty-five year old has been on medical disability since June, apparently relating to a back injury, according to the New York Post. No replacement for his production role at the company has yet been announced.
