Citing personal reasons, Take-Two chief operating officer Gary Dale is unexpectedly resigning his role at the publisher effective immediately, the company said today.
"Mr. Dale's day-to-day duties and responsibilities for the Company will cease immediately," the company said in a brief SEC filing -- although Dale will remain an employee until April 15.
"The Company will have no further material obligations to Mr. Dale beyond that date," the filing continues.
Speaking to Gamasutra, Take-Two spokesman Alan Lewis affirms that Dale was not terminated, and that his departure was unplanned.
Lewis also says that the company currently has no plans to re-fill the COO position: "[Dale's] responsibilities have since been absorbed by other senior members of our executive management team," he explains.
