Officials from Take-Two Interactive have caved into an ultimatum from New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and agreed to censor dialogue in future pressings of
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.
Complaints last month, from certain US Haitian communities, over a “Kill all the Haitians” mission objective (referring to a specific gang of drug dealers, not Haitians in general) led Bloomberg to threaten legal action, after protests in front of New York City Hall.
Although the company has agreed to censor all future editions of the game, the title has been out for more than a year now on PlayStation 2 and has become one of the best selling games of all time.
