UK-based Synaptic Soup has launched version 1.3 of its Cipher 3D game engine, which introduces a suite of Visual Tools to give artists the ability to define the look and behavior of game content. The core components of Cipher’s Visual Tools are its Shader Designer and Particle Designer which allow artists and content creators to create shader and particle effects in an interactive real-time environment where models, animations, effects, shaders, particle systems and lens effects appear as they will in-game. Cipher 1.3 with Visual Tools ships with a number of examples and tutorials and is available to license now from Synaptic Soup. Licensing starts at £1,000.
