Stockholm-based independent game development firm Pan Vision Studio has announced the completion of
Glimmering Heights – A Better Tomorrow, a PC adventure game built to emphasize democracy and human rights. The project was managed by the Sweden's Olof Palme International Center.
The game, which was made with financial support from The Swedish Agency for International Development Cooperation, casts the player in the role of the leader of a community called Glimmering Heights, and as that leader the player must deal with a sudden batch of bad luck, including attacks by wild dogs, population uprisings, and an impending natural catastrophe.
Glimmering Heights is planned to be distributed to new or not yet existing democracies globally, including within the Nordic market, where Pan Vision Studio is finalizing distribution agreements for the game to be introduced into schools. The company is also preparing for internet distribution of
Glimmering Heights through their logistic partner Ztorm AB.
Earlier productions from PAN Vision Studio include entertainment titles such as
Backpacker and serious games such as a dyslexic language trainer for children called
Wendy & Tim, as well as an anti-drug game called
Trapped in the Filter.
