Super-Ego Games, which announced its first foray
into the next-gen arena earlier this year, has revealed on the U.S. PlayStation Blog that it's working on Rat Race
, a new title to be downloadable as episodic content via PlayStation Network.
Super-Ego co-founder Greg Easley, who previously founded developer Bottle Rocket, said Rat Race
will be available as individual episodes beginning this Winter.
According to Easley, the episodic game is an action-comedy title set in a dysfunctional office, tasking players with just getting through the day amid a cast of difficult characters.
's voice and writing talent has credits on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, My Name Is Earl, Saturday Night Live, South Park, Flight of the Conchords, Sex and the City, Ugly Betty, Comedy Central, and others, further pitching in on the TV-sitcom vibe.
Said Easley, "Our goal is to give you the feeling of 'playing' inside an episode of your favorite TV show. Sometimes we describe Rat Race
as an interactive sitcom, but that doesn’t do it justice. There’s more to the experience than funny dialogue. Along the way you’ll sneak, sprint, solve puzzles, eavesdrop, steal, and even 'neutralize' that lab monkey."
