3D modeling software company Strata has announced the latest release of Strata 3D CX, which extends support for 3D workflows to Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, enabling designers to use Photoshop CS3's image editing toolset and paint engine to edit 3D and motion-based content in Strata.
Strata 3D CX enables 3D object modeling or editing with tools including Subdivision Surface modeling, Booleans, Align to Path, and Deformation. 3D content can be sent directly into Photoshop CS3 Extended and match the perspective of Photoshop images. Users can also compose final scenes, set up lighting using High Dynamic Range images, and generate soft shadows, reflected light, and refractive materials.
The most recent upgrade of Strata 3D CX adds other new features, including six new plug-in capabilities to connect Photoshop CS3 to Strata. Among these are the new Texture Maker plug-ins, two new commands that help designers create fully linked textures that reflect in Strata changes made to Photoshop textures.
Strata president Ken Bringhurst says, "This powerful new workflow between Strata 3D CX and Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended is already being called 'truly inspired' by the press and industry insiders. This upgrade reinforces Strata's position as the best 3D solution for the design and illustration market."y
