Semper International, the graphic arts and print staffing agency has announced it is expanding into interactive media and will soon be serving the game development market. According to a press release, the company will “offer a wide array of skilled programmers, artists and animators to software development houses, whether large or small, across the United States.” This news is good for young aspiring developers and recent graduates, who may find it more difficult to secure the services of a recruiter, as they tend to head hunt higher-level talent rather than new recruits. (However, it should be noted that Semper did not specifically mention whether its services will be distributed equally between inexperienced and experienced developers.) “We are extremely excited to be opening our new video game staffing division because with the feverish pace at which the gaming industry is growing the need for specialized software development talent is likewise increasing,” said Brian Regan, president of Semper International in the press release. Semper holds offices in Boston, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orange County (Calif.), San Francisco, Wayne (NJ), and Washington, D.C., as well as an online location in Second Life.
