Publisher SouthPeak (Two Worlds, Ninja Town
) has announced that it is working with Grapevine, TX developer SpiderMonk to bring 3D puzzle game Roogoo
to Xbox Live Arcade and Windows PCs this April.
SouthPeak says players are tasked with "guiding meteors in the form of shaped blocks though a series of rotating disks as a means of saving planet Roo and the entire Roogoo race. If aligned correctly, the disks allow the blocks to reach the ground and scores are awarded."
The publisher promises more than 45 puzzle levels with both single and two-player multiplayer modes, as well as separate "party game" modes. The game will also feature bonus challenges and stages with new shapes and characters.
SpiderMonk previously has served primarily as a mobile phone developer, with such titles under its belt as NBC Sports National Heads-UP Poker
and a mobile version of boxing title Ready2Rumble
. Throughout the end of 2007 the developer notes that it has become a licensed Wii and DS developer, as well.
Said SpiderMonk president Scott March, "We set out to build an addictive, casual game that would be easy to play yet difficult to master. SouthPeak gave us the freedom to push the limits of creativity and it resulted in a game that is truly different and has something for everyone. Not only do we have solid gameplay mechanics, but we have added a story element to the experience to really keep players engaged."
