Gregory Ballard, former chief executive of bankrupt consumer electronics company Sonicblue, is to take over the reins of mobile phone content provider Sorrent
. The company was founded by former Electronic Arts games designer Scott Orr, who will stay on as chairman of the board and director of the company's studio.
Ballard is also a member of the board of directors at THQ and games media company IGN. It is not clear whether he will resign from the former, given that THQ has a wireless division of its own.
