Using a network adapter that Sony will sell for $39.99, the PS2 will be able to connect to the Internet via a dial-up or broadband Internet connection, and will support any ISP. The company didn't say where on the PS2 the adapter will connect; the PS2 features dual USB ports and a port on the back for hooking up a hard drive.
Sony said it will start testing the online system with a small group of players this month, but did not say what games or other content will be available for PS2 users once the service launches.
