Sony has announced that Canadian PlayStation Store users will be seeing a series of phased changes to adjust pricing of downloadable content on the service, making local prices more equitable given a strengthening Canadian dollar.
Sony says the adjustments will occur over the following few days leading up to the regularly scheduled Thursday PlayStation store update on May 1st.
Sony recently rolled out
a major update to the PlayStation Store in response to user feedback, specifically a 2007 survey that found users wanted a better interface and easier navigation. The new design is aimed at addressing those demands, and promises navigational improvements, broader categorization and a new user interface.
Said PlayStation Store senior manager Grace Chen, "We are continually looking for ways to enhance the player experience on the PlayStation Network, and downloadable content through the PlayStation Store is just one of our areas of focus. We anticipate that this price adjustment will meet the expectations of our Canadian consumers and provide them with a better PlayStation Network experience."
