The London-based handset joint venture between Ericsson and Sony, aptly named Sony Ericsson, announced three new Java-based cell phones equipped with color screens that will let consumers download games to them. The first model, the T68i, will be available to consumers in Europe and Asia in the next two weeks. The P800 (pictured here) will feature a large color screen, built-in camera, and personal organizer. It will arrive on the market next fall. Finally, the Z700 will also have a color display and support game downloads, and will be available next fall. Next week at CeBIT, Sony Ericsson is expected to announce which network operators will roll out the phones. The company is also launching three other models with monochrome displays for the American market, which will also support game downloads. The phones will be aimed at the high end of the market, and will be priced accordingly -- hundreds of Euros.
