Sony today lowered the MSRP of its Playstation 2 console to $149 putting it in line with Microsoft's Xbox which had a similar price cut earlier this year.
The news was hardly unexpected as rumors of such a move had been widely circulated coming up to this year's E3 and came in the wake of a lower than expected PS2 sales forecast.
