Sony and NTT Present Online Gaming Service

Sony and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone have teamed up to introduce an online gaming service for Sony’s Playstation 2.

"We would like to offer not only game and entertainment content but also offer two-way (interactive) services, including TV, on a global scale," said Sony Computer Entertainment President Ken Kutaragi. Sony has said that it aims to provide a range of digital content, movies, music, game software and financial products via the internet. The new service is slated to begin in April 2002, and will allow users at home to play online games against each other via faster internet access offered by NTT.
