Representatives from voice recognition system developer Fonix have announced that the company has signed up to Sony’s Tools and Middleware program. The company’s software has previously been used in titles such as
Rainbow Six 3 and
SWAT: Global Strike Team on the Xbox.
The company hopes that developers will be able to implement the technology as early as this summer. The move gives extra fuel to rumors that the PlayStation 3 will include next-generation EyeToy style technology – including voice recognition – as standard.
