Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced seven additions to its North American line of $19.99 value-priced PlayStation 2 "Greatest Hits" software range, continuing to expand its line of older first and third-party PS2 games which are officially converted to a lower price point, alongside a special packaging change.
The new Greatest Hits titles, all originally Sony-published games, include
ATV Offroad Fury 3, Hot Shots Golf: FORE!, Jak 3, Killzone, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, Sly 2: Band of Thieves, and
Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain. Sony revealed that these seven titles have accounted for aggregate sales in excess of 4.5 million units, hence their conversion to Greatest Hits - there are now a total of 123 Greatest Hits games for the PS2 in North America.
"With over a hundred game titles in our 'Greatest Hits' library we are able to offer a broad range of content for consumers of all ages at an incredible value," said Jack Tretton, executive vice president, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "The Greatest Hits series offers a line up of game titles proven to be all-time favorites, and these franchises have become a great way to provide the millions of consumers around the world with an unparalleled and enjoyable gaming experience."
