In the latest high-profile exec hire, Gamasutra has learned VC-backed online game/world firm Trion World has hired Nicholas Beliaeff away from his position running SOE's San Diego studio to become VP of development at Trion's San Diego office.
Beliaeff was recently interviewed
by Gamasutra on his work at the EverQuest
creator's Southern California studio, and is part of a major hiring phase for Trion.
The company recently hired other online biz vets as, with the help of Hewlett Packard's hardware, it develops the technology infrastructure for a dynamic, multi-platform content delivery system. The developer, which has headquarters in the Bay Area, also recently announced it had raised 30 million dollars in investments for their endeavors.
The hires Trion previously announced are Peter Matiss as vice president, marketing and sales, and Won Seok Chung as senior director of business development. Matiss was previously Webzen America's VP of marketing and sales, and Chung is former department head and director at online social networking destination Cyworld, where he negotiated contracts and strategic partnerships.
At the time of the Matiss and Chung hires, Trion CEO Lars Buttler commented, “Trion is a new type of publisher, uniquely positioned to be the go-to partner for premier IP created for the connected world.”
