The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University is holding a free seminar October 26, from 7- 9 p.m., at their Plano Campus for anyone interested in entering video game design and production.
Classes will be led by SMU faculty who have years of experience in video game design and production. Classes to be held include:
- Introduction to constructing a level in Half-Life 2
- Zbrush® modern modeling and texturing software
- Introduction to animation using motion capture
- Overview of technology in modern game engines
“The growth of the video game industry is exploding,” explained Dr. Peter Raad, executive director of The Guildhall at SMU. “Our graduate program is experiencing an over 90 percent placement rate for our artists, level designers, and programmers. If you have a background in art, film, graphic arts, creative writing, math or engineering, you might want to consider looking into a career in the video game industry.”
